As I was doing Lectio on these verses, it struck me that God knows my hungers better than I do.  God also knows how to satisfy them. I don’t have to figure it out.  But I do have to remain attentive, mindful, intentional as I go through the day. Otherwise it’s just too easy to miss this daily feast.

Thanks, Linda. I’ve read your post several times and find it heartening. It’s so easy to forget that Christ has the day’s itinerary mapped out. I’m not driving the bus.

My very early morning routine is to do Centering Prayer, and then get coffee and do Lectio.  I’m going to modify the suggested practice a bit and invite Jesus to “Come have some coffee with me.” And then ponder the day’s Scripture together and look ahead to the day …both the expected and the unexpected.  Marlene OSB

I felt a lightness. Thoughts came and went. I was fully aware that I was there, but somehow behind the thoughts. I felt…anchored, yet light and free. Marlene OSB

This Gospel passage and the various reflections offered with it leave me almost speechless.  I’m challenged, and delighted, and feel confirmed in my journey.  Recently I dreamed of an almost unspeakably beautiful green tree,  and I’m not usually one to remember my dreams, much less notice color.  But green has always been my color, perhaps as a sign of constant hope, of fresh new life, of an “Amen” that gives a green light of “Yes” to God’s action.

If (and it’s a big “if”) I’m mindful/watchful enough as I go through the day, I’ll usually be amazed at how my morning Lectio Divina carries through the day.  Every day, Scripture is fulfilled in my hearing… deeper listening is the challenge.

Jesus “revealed his glory” at Cana. He waits to reveal the same glory in me and can do so, even when I’m being clueless and less than mindful. But what a great day today or any day can be when I/we make this the intention of the day!  And what comes to me more and more lately is that Jesus’ glory in me/us is continually meeting His glory in others.  What a day/week  this can be if I really pay  attention/intention to all this glory being poured out all around me…like that wonderful wine that came from ordinary water…

How many times I’ve read this passage, focusing on what that Voice from heaven would say.  The content drew me, not the fact that it was a Voice from heaven. That also tends to be how I go through the day… focusing on the content of the moment rather than first on the fact that every moment is an utterance of that Voice. This includes all the moments that are ordinary, routine, sometimes even not particularly desirable. And then I understand why St Benedict, under whose monastic Rule I live, tells his monastics to begin every day with the verse from Psalm 95:. “If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” That Voice will speak all day long in everything.
