What do I need to be closer to others? Simply remembering the affirmation: Be love. In all matters, with all people. Be love. No subject, no object. Be love.

O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me.

That is enough.

I heard that it is I who is to consciously remain present to the experience of another; I must be the one to hold this contemplative gaze though sometimes with weeping and tears; and it is I who am called to reveal to all whom I encounter that the world is beautiful still — because of my love, the love of the one before me.  May it be so.
