Bless you Tim; stopping to speak to that man was a kind thing to do.  In my experience people usually appreciate it.

I try to remember to remind myself that “God is in her/him/them too” in each encounter (this does not always happen it’s a work in progress).

Several years ago I learnt a valuable lesson when I started speaking regularly to a young woman, Rebecca, from Eastern Europe, who sells The Big Issue.
(For our non-British friends this is the magazine which homeless people buy from the organisers and then sell on at a small profit.  It’s founder describes supporting them in this way as “giving a hand up not a hand out”.  It’s usually good journalism too!)  One day I asked Rebecca what was the hardest thing about selling this mag on the streets,  she replied “when people do not even look at you – you start to feel you are nothing”.   Rebecca went on to say that it’s not necessarily about them buying the mag but about recognising her as a fellow-human being.

I am so grateful the question was posed: “Ponder what feeds your soul?  By the bread of the Eucharist, by the bread of everyday life?”

Eucharist, from the Greek eucharistia for “thanksgiving”.  I think of fellow Christians, and others, who do not partake of the Eucharist and live a life of gratitude and thanksgiving.  Eucharist can happen in many ways – through nature, art and other ways – as I believe Fr Thomas says somewhere.

Inspirational – many thanks for sharing this, Carl.

Thank you for sharing this Tim – a true example of Love in Action.  As some of our teachers say, “Love is not an emotion, it is a decision”.  Or words to that effect.  Your former colleague demonstrated that.

Thank you so much for your reminder of Pierre Pradervand Linda, this sent me scurrying to my bookshelf, only to remember that I lent the book years ago and it hasn’t been returned.  I bless whoever it was who had/has the blessing of being guided by it.

May all go smoothly for you at the post service offices.

Thank you for sharing this Susan – a reciprocal encounter out of which each person grows.  This makes sense to me.

“Silence in this context is liturgy of an exalted kind.”  This is very affirming for me because I find it more and more difficult to use words to pray.  I begin to use words then find there is nothing to say, God already knows.  So I name, hand over and trust – which grows into TRUST.

Thank you for this Breath Prayer, Linda

Thank you for this meditation Pamela.  No thinking as I watched – I let the sight and sounds wash over me then closed my eyes and breathed to the sound of the waves.  Awareness of even that stopped as I just let the sounds fill me and wash over me.  It was an enriching and soothing experience and one to which I shall return.

“…each of us and every human being is a Christophany, a manifestation of the living Christ – a divine + human being …” – from To Practice.

I aim to consciously carry this forward into this week and beyond, and I thank you all for the inspiration you all are.  Written, spoken in the Zoom sessions or in silent holding.

Thank you Pamela.  A long time ago I started Morning Pages and stopped because, like you, I am not a journal person.  Your words are encouraging and I have put ready a notebook by my bed to begin again tomorrow.  I think this will be very helpful as I walk an unknown path alongside my daughter for the duration, however long that will be.
I am grateful for the timing of your post Pamela.

From Epiphany on the Jordan, Malcolm aguite

”The Father speaks, the Sprit and the Son
Reveal to us the single loving heart
That beats behind the being of all things
And calls and keeps and kindles us to light.”

I am sitting with …”the single loving heart that beats behind the being of all things”…   To remember that behind everything I am and do, there is a single beating heart, which is not my own, telling me that I am loved and am pleasing to God.  This is pretty astonishing.  And very encouraging.
