What are we supposed to do now? And what is the work of religions in this new situation or axial period that humans may be on the verge and really have to be on the verge in order to survive because we can’t prolong the battle of greed or domination with the weapons of destruction that we have now without serious damage to ourselves and all the other life on earth. The spiritual life is the most important thing there is to do in life and it doesn’t just mean our salvation, or healing, or our wholeness, or our redemption, or whatever the word is for the healing of the human condition with its limitations and faults and an openness to evil, as well as good. So here is where the contemplative dimension of life which is aimed at prayer and practice to further this capacity for transformation and to realize the New Creation that Jesus spoke about and the Book of Revelation speaks about (47:29) and which has been found to be the experience of a significant number of human beings who are sort of pioneers in this area of spiritual evolution.

¿Qué se supone que hagamos ahora? ¿Y deben hacer las religiones en esta nueva situación o período axial al que se aproximan los seres humanos - y al que verdaderamente deben acercarse para sobrevivir, ya que no pueden prolongar la batalla de la avaricia y la dominación con las armas de destrucción que ahora poseen sin provocarse graves daños a si mismos, así como a toda la vida en la tierra? Lo espiritual es lo más importante que hay que hacer en la vida, y no solo significa nuestra salvación o sanación, o nuestra plenitud o nuestra redención, o cualquiera que sea el término que usemos para expresar la mejoría de la condición humana con sus limitaciones y faltas, y su apertura al mal, así como al bien. Es aquí donde la dimensión contemplativa de la vida, que implica oración y práctica, impulsa esta capacidad para la transformación y nos permite realizar la Nueva Creación de la que hablaba Jesús y a la que se refiere el Libro de las Revelaciones (47:29), y que ha resultado ser la experiencia de un número significativo de seres humanos que son una especie de pioneros en este área de la evolución espiritual.
