We’re dealing with God manifesting in diversity and in creation so that we can relate to him, so that we’re an “I” that can be in relationship with the “Thou” of God. But when the I has become the Thou, then you’re in a different situation and all the ways of perceiving God shift in that new light and that’s what I meant by saying the senses are translated into various presences of God which are then translated into just doing what’s needed to be done now without thinking about it, but knowing always that it’s coming from God. So, when there’s no other you’re dealing with the un-manifest God which is, I presume, a greater participation in God’s “isness” than in dealing with him as the Creator God, however exalted that invitation is.
The actual spiritual life is about becoming nothing. I don't know what else because then you can
become everything, which is what God is; but God can't give us - can't adorn us - with the riches
of divine life if you're interested in gratification on the level of the false self, egoic, or society's
ideas of happiness. They just are not real. So, the letting-what-happens happen without thinking
about it or without criticizing it or without judging it but as something God is sending is a fairly
characteristic disposition as far as I can I see in all the spiritual traditions when they reach this
plane of annihilating or letting go of the self. Annihilating is not a popular word today.
La verdadera vida espiritual consiste en convertirse en nada
Estamos refiriéndonos a Dios que se manifiesta en la diversidad y en la creación, de modo que podemos relacionarnos con El, podemos ser un yo que se relaciona con el Tú de Dios, pero cuando el yo se ha convertido en el Tú, podríamos decir, estamos en una situación diferente, y todas las formas de percibir a Dios cambian bajo esa nueva luz, y eso es a lo que me refería al decir que los sentidos se traducen como diferentes presencias de Dios, que luego se traducen como simplemente hacer lo que es necesario hacer ahora sin pensar acerca de ello, pero a la vez sabiendo siempre que todo proviene de Dios. Cuando no hay un otro estamos tratando con el Dios no manifestado, lo que presumo que es una participación mayor en el ser de Dios que cuando tratamos con Él como el Dios creador, por más elevada que sea esa invitación. La verdadera vida espiritual consiste en convertirse en nada, porque así podemos convertirnos en todo, que es lo que Dios es. Pero Dios no puede darnos, no puede adornarnos con las riquezas de la vida divina si estamos interesados en obtener gratificación en el nivel del falso yo o egoico, o de las ideas de la sociedad acerca de la felicidad. Estas simplemente no son reales. Dejar que cualquier cosa que sucede suceda, sin pensar en ello, sin criticarlo o juzgarlo sino como algo que Dios nos envía es una actitud bastante característica, a mi ver, de todas las tradiciones espirituales, cuando llegan a este plano de aniquilación o entrega del yo – aniquilación no es una palabra popular hoy en día…
