The unknowable is one of the relationships to the Ultimate Reality that humans are capable of as they advance through the other relationships. For instance, God relates to the infant as protection as personified in the parents. So, the child in a family where there is belief in God in some observances is brought up in an atmosphere that God is like a father or the parents that is always protecting it and if the parents are doing their job, they’re usually fairly prompt in providing the needs of the child. The child wants attention promptly. It wants its needs met. If it’s hungry, it’s manifested. It needs the constant security of the safety of loving parents and to feel loved by being held and kissed and talked to and all these things. And so, these are our fundamental attitudes for the relationship with God that is designed to unfold, not remain there. But as in all the levels of Christians relating to God, they can get stuck at one level and not continue to unfold along with their human development and capacity to have richer and more expansive relationships with this Ultimate Reality.Semana de enero 16 – Etapas en Nuestra Comprensión de Dios - el Niño
Lo incognoscible es una de las formas de relacionarse con la Realidad Última de la que los seres humanos son capaces al avanzar con las otras formas de relación. Por ejemplo, Dios se relaciona con los niños como protección, personificada en los padres. De modo que los niños que pertenecen a una familia en la que existe una creencia en Dios que se manifiesta por medio de determinadas prácticas, se cría en una atmósfera en la que Dios es como un padre o una madre, que siempre está protegiéndolos, y si los padres están cumpliendo bien con lo que deben hacer, rápidamente atienden a las necesidades de los niños. Los niños quieren ser atendidos con rapidez. Necesitan que sus necesidades sean satisfechas. Si tienen hambre manifiestan su necesidad. Necesitan sentir constantemente la seguridad del cuidado de padres que los aman, y necesitan sentirse amados y que los abracen, los besen y les hablen, y todo ese tipo de cosas. Estas son nuestras actitudes básicas para relacionarnos con Dios, y están destinadas a evolucionar, no a permanecer estáticas. Pero, como sucede en todos los niveles en los que los cristianos se relacionan con Dios, pueden trabarse en un determinado nivel y no seguir evolucionando junto con el desarrollo humano y la capacidad para mantener relaciones más ricas e integrales con esa Realidad Última.
