People on the rational level tend to see things in opposites, or in confrontations, or in positive and negative, whereas as one rises in the level of holons, all of the apparent opposites are resolved in higher unities all the way up to the Trinitarian source of everything that exists, where the same Ultimate Holon is holding forth. Betty Sue Flowers: So there's a kind of oneness. Thomas Keating: Everything is one. That's the whole point of this. It just doesn't look that way. And it certainly isn't perceived that way if we are at one of those levels that I described as circles that corresponds to our ordinary psychological awareness or even our spiritual development as far as the intuitive, which is still subject to certain fault-filled elements and, hence, doesn't perceive reality accurately. As science continues its search into the unknown, which makes if a kind of religion now in itself and which deserves to sit down at the conversation with spirituality, because in actual fact, science speaks in more mystical language now than most preachers. We hear physicists saying that we can't have a thought without instantly affecting everything in the universe. This is pushing oneness about as far as it will go. If a thought does this, what about an action? If an action does this, what is our responsibility for our actions if they're affecting everything in the universe? Oímos que los físicos dicen que no podemos tener un pensamiento sin instantáneamente causar un efecto en todo el universo. Esto es llevar el concepto de unidad tan lejos como es posible llevarlo. Si esto hace un pensamiento, ¿qué hay de una acción?.
