We need the contributions of all the religions in order to enrich the basic core of wisdom of the human family itself. If we don't do that, we get the defensive attitudes that have led to violence and still leading to terrible violence, however much they're intertwined with political motives that need to be transcended in the evolutionary process, without in any way ceasing to be rooted in our own tradition. The question might be, "Well, where has this idea of exclusivism actually led us in fact?" It seems to have led to all kinds of religious wars and defensiveness and it's a pretty big claim that our religion happens to be the only one to salvation. A position that was condemned by the Vatican.
How are we to understand this? There's a difference between being the only religion and the best religion or the one that suits me the best. As regards the latter two, there's no discussion. Some will be attracted to one religion for any number of reasons. According to Scripture, God wills everyone to be saved.

Necesitamos contribuciones de todas las religiones para enriquecer el núcleo básico de sabiduría de la familia humana. Si así no lo hacemos el resultado son las actitudes defensivas, que han conducido a la violencia y aún ahora llevan a una terrible violencia por mucho que esté mezclada con razones políticas. Esto necesita ser trascendido en el proceso evolutivo, sin que eso signifique que debamos dejar de afianzarnos en nuestra propia tradición. La pregunta podría ser “Bien, ¿adónde nos ha llevado en realidad esta idea de exclusivismo?” Parece habernos llevado a toda clase de guerras religiosas y a estar a la defensiva. Es mucho afirmar que nuestra religión es la única que conduce a la salvación, una posición que fue condenada por el Vaticano. Entonces, ¿cómo debemos entender esto? Bueno, hay una diferencia entre ser la única religión y ser la mejor, o por lo menos la que mejor me sirve a mí. Con respecto a esto último no hay discusión. Algunos se sentirán atraído a una determinada religión por muy diferentes de razones. Según las escrituras es voluntad de Dios que todos sean salvados.
