When people ask me about Centering Prayer, the thing that I always tell them is that everyone’s experience is different. It is an opportunity to just be in the silence for 20 minutes twice a day. I say that it is really hard to describe until you do it but this idea of being able to put down all the things that constantly grab our attention and just be in this moment where you ... again, you don’t have any requirements on you. You don’t have to do or be anywhere. And it’s just a lovely experience of quiet. The result is that you’ll just find that you’ll be a whole lot more peaceful around people, events, reactions.
