Most people start off in their relationship
with God by hoping for eternal life or something
in return for their efforts. This is a
normal door into the relationship with God,
which becomes agape, which is the pure love of God,
and enables us to have generous or pure love of others.
In other words, we go on loving them even if
they want to be enemies or want to get rid of us.
Why? Because we perceive in them,
through the gift of goodness, the beauty
and the goodness of God, however much it’s buried.
It’s never completely buried from
the enlightened eye of faith.

Whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious
if there is any excellence
and if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.

Una puerta al amor puro
La mayoría de las personas empieza su relación con Dios
esperando obtener la vida eterna
o algo como recompensa por sus esfuerzos.
Esta es una puerta de entrada normal a la relación con Dios,
que se transforma en ágape, el cual es el amor puro a Dios,
y que nos permite tener un amor puro o generoso por los demás.
Dicho de otro modo, seguimos amándolos
aún cuando quieran ser nuestros enemigos o quieran deshacerse de nosotros.
¿Por qué? Porque percibimos en ellos,
a través del don de la bondad, la belleza y bondad de Dios,
sin importar lo mucho que esté oculta.
Nunca está completamente oculta al ojo iluminado de la fe.

Todo cuanto hay de verdadero, de noble,
de justo, de puro,
de amable, de honorable,
todo cuanto sea virtud
y cosa digna de elogio,
todo eso tenedlo en cuenta.
