I want to hear God. I want to listen to God. And Centering Prayer gave me a way of knowing that God is speaking to me. My father had a second heart attack this past summer and I was home when it was occurring and I ended-up being on the phone with the emergency personnel and once I realized what was happening something in me just kept returning ever-so-gently to the sacred word. It wasn’t something that I was doing – I just felt the impulse within to return ever-so-gently, and to be ever-so-grounded and so present and so calm and just doing what needed to be done through that whole experience.
El regalo de la Oración Centrante: estar muy presente y centrado en la vida.
Quiero oír a Dios. Quiero escuchar a Dios. Y la Oración Centrante me bridó una manera de saber que Dios me está hablando. Mi padre tuvo un segundo ataque al corazón este último verano. Estaba en casa cuando sucedió y tuve que ser yo la que habló por teléfono con el personal de emergencias, y una vez que me di cuenta de lo que estaba sucediendo algo en mi comenzó a volver una y otra vez, muy suavemente, a la palabra sagrada. No era algo que yo hacía – solo sentía el impulso dentro mío a volver con mucha suavidad, y sentirme muy centrada y tan presente y tan en calma, y simplemente hacer lo que era necesario en toda esa situación.
