No matter what a mess you’ve made of your life, look inside: you are the image of God. You have the likeness of God. You have that call to complete intimate union with God. No one is excluded because every human person is the image of God. That image has the infinite capacity for the knowledge of God and God doesn’t create things to be frustrated. And the only thing that’s going to fulfill that is entering fully into union, communion, with God, in Christ the Son, in the Trinity. Nothing less will satisfy us. And we can mess-up all over the place, that’s there and God wants to fulfill it – and he will! I know many people maybe in that wondrous moment of transition when we pass from this life into the next all of us will be taken care of in some way or another. But, why wait? Why not enjoy it now? The Son is totally taken with the Father, the Father with Son and yet the light is the kiss, the Holy Spirit. That’s what our contemplative prayer is. One with Christ who we are more one with than we can ever conceive. The Father and the Spirit – it’s all there.
Cada Persona es la Imagen de Dios
No importa cuantos errores hayas cometido en tu vida, mira en tu interior: eres la imagen de Dios. Te asemejas a El. Tienes en ti ese llamado a lograr una unión íntima y total con Dios. Nadie está excluido porque cada persona es la imagen de Dios. Esa imagen tiene la capacidad infinita de conocer a Dios y Dios no crea algo para que se frustre. Y lo único que va a completarnos es llegar a la unión total y comunión con Dios, en Cristo el Hijo, en la Trinidad. Nada que sea menos que eso nos va a satisfacer. Y podremos cometer errores una y otra vez pero ese llamado seguirá allí y Dios quiere que lo cumplamos, y lo haremos! Conozco a muchos para los que, quizá en ese maravilloso momento de transición cuando pasamos de esta vida a la próxima, eso se resolverá de un modo u otro. Pero ¿por qué esperar? ¿Por qué no disfrutarlo ahora? El Hijo está totalmente enamorado del Padre, y el Padre del Hijo, y sin embargo la luz es el beso, el Espíritu Santo. Esa es nuestra oración contemplativa. Ser uno en Cristo, con el que estamos más unidos de lo que nunca podríamos imaginar. El Padre y el Espíritu – está todo allí.
