Death is an enormous conundrum and the process of dying can be horrendous because all that we hoped to find, or that we depended on, for our security, affection and power/control needs in the course of an extended period of dying are gradually removed. As we enter life with those three desperate needs for security, affection and some degree of control, is there something even more fundamental that is the source of our problem? I said in other places that the problem is that we have never known existentially in our earliest childhood when the false self and the ego are beginning to be developed what true happiness is and this seems to me to be the key to the human problem.
El Origen de Nuestro Problema
La muerte es un enigma enorme y el proceso de morir puede ser horrendo porque todo lo que esperábamos encontrar, o todo de lo que dependíamos, para satisfacer nuestras necesidades de seguridad, afecto y poder/control, gradualmente desaparecen en el transcurso de un extenso periodo de morir. Cuando entramos en la vida con esas tres necesidades apremiantes de seguridad, afecto y un cierto grado de control ¿hay algo aún más fundamental que es la fuente de nuestro problema? He dicho en otros lugares que el problema es que nunca hemos conocido existencialmente en nuestra primera infancia, cuando el falso yo y el ego están comenzando a desarrollarse, lo que es la verdadera felicidad, y esto me parece ser la clave del problema humano.
