Our own spiritual life has to be a combination of this capacity for solitude with God and communion and service of others. Service is considered the best practice to further the interior life because it’s closest to the idea of alert receptivity and passivity that is not just emptiness but openness to the inspirations of the Spirit.
We see that Jesus emphasized servant leadership to his Apostles over and over again. A real leader is the one who is the servant of all. So, servant leadership is an expression of our realization that everyone else is not only equal but probably better than us. And that whatever we do for others is not to fix them which presumes that we know how to fix or even to help them which indicates we’re in a superior position, but is a privilege of serving them in gratitude as members of this body that is being transformed into God and in which God dwells.
El privilegio del liderazgo como servicio
Nuestra propia vida espiritual tiene que ser una combinación de esta capacidad para la solitud con Dios y la comunión y el servicio a los demás. El servicio es considerado la mejor práctica para el progreso de la vida interior, porque esta muy próximo a la idea de alerta receptividad y pasividad, que no es solo vacuidad sino también apertura a la inspiración del Espíritu.
Vemos que Jesús puso énfasis en el liderazgo como servicio una y otra vez cuando se dirigía a sus apóstoles. Un verdadero líder es el que es el sirviente de todos. Por eso, el liderazgo como servicio es una expresión de nuestra comprensión de que todos los demás no solo son iguales a nosotros sino probablemente mejores, y que lo que sea que hagamos por los demás no tiene que ver con arreglarlos, lo que supone que sabemos como arreglar o aun ayudar a otros, y que estamos en una posición superior. Comprendemos que servirles es un privilegio por el que sentimos gratitud, como miembros de este cuerpo que está siendo transformado en Dios, y en el que Dios habita.
