Again, use the classical prayer, “Help!” Very easy to say, and in certain circumstances, very easy to mean. And so it’s very simple, very straightforward and very effective, because God is not impressed, as we know from the Gospel, by length of words. … What God is interested in is hearts which he examines with the greatest of care, meaning: What is your intention or motive in wanting this relationship and expressing it in the way that you’re expressing it? So, while God adjusts himself, in his great humility, to whatever level of prayer we’re on, however primitive, he would like to move us on to more divine ways of exchange because he loves us and is interested in raising us up to ever greater understanding and capacity to interact with him in a fully human and in a divine way. . … In other words, [God] wants us to be human in the full sense of the word and get going on the more sublime levels of relationship that we call deification.

Usemos la oración clásica, “¡Auxilio!”. Muy fácil de decir, y en ciertas circunstancias, muy fácil de sentir. Y por lo tanto es muy simple, muy directa y muy efectiva, porque a Dios no le impresionan, como sabemos por los Evangelios, la cantidad de palabras…Lo que le interesa a Dios son los corazones, que examina con el mayor cuidado, lo que significa : Cuál es tu intención o motivo para desear esta relación y expresarla de la forma en la que la expresas?
Entonces, mientras Dios se adapta, en su gran humildad, a cualquiera que sea el nivel de oración en el que nos encontramos, no importa lo primitivo que sea, querría llevarnos a formas más divinas de diálogo, porque nos ama y le interesa elevarnos a una comprensión cada vez mayor y a la capacidad de interactuar con él de forma totalmente humana y de forma divina…En otras palabras, [Dios] quiere que seamos humanos en el pleno sentido del término y que avancemos a los niveles más sublimes de relación que llamamos deificación.
