La Noche de los Sentidos se refiere a nuestra motivación
fundamental.
La Noche del Espíritu se dirige a la raíz del falso yo
Lo que mas caracteriza a la Noche de los Sentidos
no es que sea una conclusión racional
sino la intuición de que nada de lo creado puede satisfacernos
y que sólo Dios puede satisfacer
nuestro anhelo virtualmente infinito de felicidad.
Esta convicción por lo tanto socava todo el fundamento
sobre el que descansa el falso yo.
