If our knowledge of God is severely limited by the human lack of evolution in our rational faculties then this would be wonderful news if it can be expanded now on the basis of facts. So in this sense I think we have to look upon science now as an equal voice in religious discussion because it’s revealing to us things we can’t know with our ordinary senses that can only be revealed through the technological extension to all the senses that modern science has made possible.
The problem of science, of course, is that it doesn’t deal with the absolutes. It’s not designed to deal with invisible forces and it’s only beginning to put its big toe, so to speak, into the great ocean of mystical wisdom and experience that can no longer be denied anymore and still maintain our respectable scientific identity.
La Ciencia y la Religión: revelar lo divino
Si nuestro conocimiento de Dios está seriamente limitado por la falta de evolución de nuestras facultades racionales, entonces es una maravillosa noticia que éstas pueden ahora ampliarse basándose en hechos. Por lo tanto, en este sentido creo que tenemos que tratar ahora a la voz de la ciencia como a un igual en la discusión religiosa, porque nos revela cosas que no podemos conocer usando nuestros sentidos ordinarios, y que solo pueden ser reveladas mediante la extensión tecnológica de los sentidos que hace posible la ciencia moderna.
El problema de la ciencia, por supuesto, es que no trata acerca de absolutos. No está diseñada para tratar con fuerzas invisibles y solo está comenzando a mojarse los pies, por así decir, en el gran océano de la sabiduría y la experiencia mística, la que ya no puede ser negada si queremos mantener intacta nuestra respetable identidad científica.
