Lectio Divina is more valuable from a spiritual
point of view than the exegesis of the text
because exegesis can become a science
like any other. You study the root meanings
of the words. This is valuable as a study
and in understanding the literal meaning,
but it doesn’t communicate the context or the spirit
in which these words are originally contained,
which may be reflecting nuances of spiritual experience
that the root of the words don’t necessarily communicate
or transmit.
