The oneness of the continuing experience of loving with fidelity and trust and love begins to move into a unity consciousness in which the presence of God and us are not distinct anymore. This isn’t usually a permanent state in this world because of the other things you have to do to survive. But this presupposes that after the transforming union, a new level of Christian life opens up that is meant to go further from a union, as wonderful as that is, with God to a unity in which God takes over the faculties more and more. And as in Jesus, manifests himself in everything we do by suggesting what the right response to every situation is from the perspective of divine love. Jesus refers to that when he speaks of the Eucharist. He says those who eat me shall live because of me - meaning that Christ becomes the source of all our activities. So then there’s no I, then there’s no me. There’s an identity, I suppose, but it doesn’t have the same interests anymore, so that all self-interest is transformed into abandonment to the divine will and the openness to manifesting it.
Un nuevo nivel de vida cristiana después de la unión transformadora
La unidad de la continua experiencia de amar con fidelidad y confianza comienza a transformarse en una unidad de conciencia en la que la presencia de Dios y la nuestra ya no son más distintas. Normalmente este no es un estado permanente en este mundo debido a las otras cosas que tenemos que hacer para sobrevivir, pero esto presupone que, luego de la unión transformadora, se abre un nuevo nivel de vida cristiana que está destinado a ir más allá de una unión – con todo lo maravillosa que ésta puede ser – con Dios, a una unidad en la que Dios se hace cargo cada vez más de las facultades y, como en Jesús , se manifiesta en todo lo que hacemos, sugiriendo en cada situación cual es la respuesta desde la perspectiva del amor divino. Jesús se refiere a esto cuando habla de la eucaristía. Dice que “los que me coman vivirán por causa mía”, lo que quiere decir que Cristo se convierte en la fuente de todas nuestras actividades. Entonces ya no hay yo. Hay una identidad, supongo, pero ya no tiene más el mismo interés, de modo que todo interés en uno mismo se transforma en abandono a la voluntad divina y apertura para manifestarla.
