I get the backwash from the past, back in the Vietnam War. Centering Prayer has been the very divine therapy and all the losses and failed dreams of a lifetime it helps me not become bitter. It’s helped me appreciate the resurrection of hope. It helped me appreciate the cross that each person has to bear whether they realize it or not. To have the silence to process the day-by-day challenges of life as well as processing the past and dealing with the shock of everything I’ve lost in the past but all I’ve gained as a result of that. People have been quoting Romans 8: 28: All things work together for good for those who love God who are called according to his purpose have been quoting that to me for 45 years when everything has been going wrong but with Centering Prayer I can live with the past and look forward to the present and have hope for the future. I just really appreciate Contemplative Outreach for condensing 2000 years, if not 3500 years, of insight into a difficult way for moderns in 21st century America and internationally I guess now to get some method to the madness -- called life.
