No one can conceive in this world what God has prepared for those who love him. And that life can be foretasted here and that’s the purpose of disciplines and the purpose of Centering Prayer and the purpose of every serious meditation that moves beyond the concepts into openness – surrender  – to the Divine Ground within, as Eckhart calls it, which is really the Holy Spirit and of turning our life over to that inspiration so that we’re not only trying, but actually, expressing God’s will, allowing, as Paul says, Christ to live in us.
