Because he knows us through and through and all the obstacles to our spiritual progress, and all the conditions that have limited our partial freedom at least, to make a choice that is really our own in circumstances, this enables God to lead us ever so gently.
It’s not just a game. It’s a game plan. But it does give God a chance to reveal his willingness to risk
and perhaps his love of adventure, and his desire to further the evolutionary process – but not too
fast. Because nature is very slow-moving, so you have to take that into account but sometimes, I
agree, that you can’t figure out what the purpose of the game is – you just have to play and hope for
the best. And you can’t expect to know what the result is – whether you’re winning or losing.
Because sometimes one feels you’ve lost everything – you just can’t handle this particular game, and
it doesn’t seem like a game anymore but a terrible chore, and so on. But the goodness of God is
never questionable.
Más que un juego… una estrategia de juego
Porque nos conoce en profundidad, y conoce todos los obstáculos para nuestro progreso espiritual, y todas las condiciones que han limitado nuestra parcial libertad para hacer una elección que sea realmente nuestra, es que Dios puede guiarnos con tanta gentileza.
No es simplemente un juego. Es una estrategia de juego. Pero le da a Dios la oportunidad de revelar su voluntad de arriesgarse, y quizá su amor por la aventura, y su deseo de colaborar con nuestro proceso evolutivo – pero no demasiado rápido. Porque la naturaleza se mueve muy lentamente. Hay que tener eso en cuenta. Pero a veces, estoy de acuerdo, no podemos adivinar cual es el propósito del juego. Tenemos que jugarlo y esperar que nos vaya bien. Y no podemos esperar conocer el resultado – si estamos ganando o perdiendo. Porque a veces sentimos que lo hemos perdido todo – no podemos enfrentarnos a este juego en particular, y ya no parece un juego, sino una terrible carga. Pero la bondad de Dios nunca está en cuestión.
