It’s interesting to look a little at the image of the wave. Think how the ocean stirred up by a storm or by the winds and the waves get higher and higher – twenty-foot, thirty-foot, even fifty-foot in the case of a tsunami. It’s not a single process. The wave builds up, builds up, builds up, somewhat the way passion might build up in lovers. And so, it comes to a certain point, and it breaks then and there’s an enormous force of water that crashes and rushes up on to the beach. So, this is a possible image of how God relates from time to time in moments of a deep prayer, not that these are regular events. Es interesante considerar la imagen de una ola. Piensen cómo se agita el océano cuando hay tormenta o a causa del viento, y las olas se hacen más y más altas – veinte pies, treinta pies, hasta cincuenta pies cuando hay un tsunami. No se trata de un único proceso. Las olas crecen, crecen, crecen, de algún modo de la forma en la que crece la pasión entre amantes.
