There is a story of a confessor that was so famous in France… Well, this lady had lost her husband who had jumped off a bridge, or something, and she was a devote lady in agony and worried about his salvation, of course. Because in those days it was generally believed that suicides couldn’t get into heaven. So, she went in and started waiting and there was practically no hope of getting in. There was such a long line. At some point, he popped out of the confessional and come over to her. He had evidently psychic gifts and he said to her: ‘Don’t worry about your husband. He made a good act of contrition on the way down!’ That’s all he had time for but she was completely consoled and reassured.

Hay una historia de un confesor, que era tan famoso en Francia ... bueno, esta mujer había perdido a su marido que había saltado de un puente, o algo así, y ella era una mujer devota que estaba sufriendo mucho preocupada por su salvación, por supuesto. Porque en aquellos tiempos se creía que los suicidas no podían entrar en el cielo. Así, ella entró a la iglesia y comenzó a esperar y no había prácticamente ninguna esperanza de entrar al confesionario. Había una cola tan larga. En algún momento, él (confesor) salió del confesionario y llegó hasta ella. Tenía dones psíquicos, evidentemente, y le dijo: “No te preocupes por tu marido. Hizo un buen acto de contrición en el camino cuando iba hacia abajo” Ese fue el único tiempo del que el confesor disponía pero ella se sintió completamente consolada y tranquilizada.
