I’ve been doing Centering Prayer for quite a few years now and it’s becoming easier to let go. I feel like it’s an act of surrender when I go back to my ‘Sacred Word’ when my thoughts – when I start thinking, when I’m carried downstream with my thoughts – there has to be that instant when I observe that, followed by an instant of willingness to let those go and sometimes that’s not easy to choose to do that.  So, it’s that little moment of surrender that I think is carrying through in my outside life, in my thoughts, in my plans, in my interactions with other people and my interactions with events. I think that my family notices and some of them have commented on it. I don’t know when those changes happened because they are ever-so-subtle and so unobservable. So, I can only really notice when I look back on my life of before the practice of Centering Prayer.
