“Praying the Scriptures” or Lectio Divina (the divine word of God) is a contemplative tradition taught in the monastic vs. scholastic style of hearing the living Word of God in the sacred spaces of everyday life. This workshop, presented by Sr. Kathryn Ann Kobelinski, SSND, and Jill Nowlen, MASFD, both commissioned presenters of the prayer, will share the method of this heart-to-heart conversation with God, while reading, reflecting, responding, and resting in the words of Scripture. Even if you practice Lectio, you will find this workshop will deepen the practice and will bring the scripture texts into your every day life. This is not a scripture study. It is a way to allow God to have a conversation with you and to give you a gift of understanding. Many Centering Prayer groups find it helpful to practice Lectio Divina with the scriptures for the upcoming Sunday liturgies after their Centering Prayer time.
