The video series God is Love, The Heart of All Creation was filmed in Snowmass, CO, in 2013. Carl Arico interviewed Thomas Keating about a variety of topics from cosmology, divine/human evolution, and unity consciousness, to silence and centering prayer. Thomas Keating considered this video series as Part 8 in his foundational Spiritual Journey series.

In Part 2 of our two part series based on God Is Love, The Heart of All Creation, we will begin with Thomas Keating reflecting on the silence in Centering Prayer as the first step in what Christian theology understands as the path of contemplation taking us into divine union. Centering Prayer reduces the obstacles to our awareness of God’s presence and communications to us. Through the regular practice of Centering Prayer, an attentiveness emerges to the presence of God in all reality and in all the experiences of our daily lives. It releases the positive energies of grace within us that are inaccessible to our conscious minds. As we become increasingly aware of God’s inspirations, we consciously experience and consent to our creaturehood – our nothingness. In time, we even embrace our own nothingness, as we turn our lives over completely to God, confident in God’s total presence and support.
