May we all Be One: Centering Prayer and the Path of Oneness

“The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me”. John 17.22-23

Jesus’ deepest desire for his disciples was the transmission of his own personal experience of oneness with God and oneness with all things. He desires for us to experience and to live in this awareness of being One – a state which transcends all identifications in personality and tribe and finds rest in that profoundly silent place in our soul where God dwells.

What would be the implications if we consent to this Oneness? How does it change our identity, our sense of who we are? How would it change our daily living – our conversations, the organization of our day, our focus at work, our citizenship, our relationships, and our prayer life?

Join us for a weekend of silence, Centering Prayer, and a deepening consent to God’s presence and transforming action. Our retreat will include conferences, sharing, liturgy, contemplative free time in the natural beauty of the Mercy Center grounds, rest, and opportunity for gentle yoga and body work.

Rev. Amber Sturgess is an Episcopal Priest, spiritual director, and a seeker on the contemplative path. She enjoys teaching contemplative practices that deepen our spiritual awareness. Amber serves as Rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Carmel.
Catherine Regan, Ph.D. is a spiritual director, clinical psychologist, and Centering Prayer teacher at Mercy Center. She has a special interest in contemplative practices and the benefits of these practices in our individual and collective lives at this time in our world
