Centering Prayer from the Ground of the Heart

Looking afresh at Centering Prayer beginning from utter surrender, we will practice the cues of: be surrender, letting thoughts be as they are, and letting go of thoughts we have collapsed upon. We will practice noticing especially the interplay of surrender and spaciousness of heart, and the gentlest of return/re-recognition of surrender during regular sits, “micro-sits”, and while we work with these teachings.

Presented by: Fr. Justin Lanier, a contemplative missioner priest of the Diocese of Vermont (Episcopal). Formation includes monastic training in St. Benedict’s Monastery, Snowmass, under Fr. Thomas Keating & Dom. Joseph Boyle, and Tofuku-sodo, Kyoto, Japan, under Keido Fukushima Roshi. Fr. Justin leads intensive contemplative immersion trainings, workshops in Centering Prayer, as well as classes in contemplative practice & theology.
